MMS use a new electronic student handbook, resulting in cost savings to the district.

Manteno Middle School has adopted electronic distribution of student handbooks.  Instead of receiving a handbook on paper, students will receive electronic copies linked on their Chromebook.

"In three years, we have saved $9,000 in expenses for printing", says David Conrad, Principal at Manteno Middle School.

Students will still receive a calendar book for recording their assignments and activity schedule.  The school is studying whether to maintain the printed calendars or to move to an on-line assignment notebook in Skyward or Google Calendar.  For now, students will be required to write down their homework in the printed calendar and use the agenda as a hall pass.

The student handbook is also available on the school website at http://www.manteno5.org/mms or https://goo.gl/U9M8Ke.  Families who wish to receive a printed copy may request one from the office.

Parents and students will sign a form agreeing that they have read the handbook and agree to follow the school procedures.  A handbook receipt form will be distributed to students at open house or on the first day of school. Please sign and return the form to school by August 23.
